Abstract: As one of the most common malignancies of the head and neck, the incidence of thyroid cancer is increasing worldwide. Surgical resection is the main method in the treatment of thyroid cancer at present. Although the traditional open surgery is effective, it has limitations such as large trauma, slow recovery and poor cosmetic satisfaction. With the development of minimally invasive techniques, robotic thyroidectomy, with its precise manipulation and minimally invasive advantages, offers new treatment options for patients with thyroid cancer. However, the equipment cost and technical popularization of robotic thyroidectomy are still the biggest difficulty at present. Secondly, the clinical effects, advantages and disadvantages of the Da Vinci robotic surgical system in thyroidectomy are not clear. Therefore, this review summarizes the progress in the application of robotic thyroidectomy in thyroid cancer treatment, including its technical characteristics, challenges, and clinical effects, to guide clinical practice and future research directions.

Key words: minimally invasive thyroidectomy; endoscopic thyroidectomy; Da Vinci robot system; thyroid tumor
