Exploring the Application Value of Sini Decoction in Treating Sepsis Based on the Theory of Acute Deficiency Syndrome

    Abstract: Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection, characterized by complex pathological mechanisms and persistently high morbidity and mortality rates. In recent years, the “Theory of Acute Deficiency Syndrome” in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has provided a new perspective for the diagnosis and treatment of sepsis. This paper systematically explores the application value of Sini Decoction in the treatment of sepsis by integrating TCM theory with modern research. Studies have shown that Sini Decoction significantly improves the prognosis of sepsis patients through multiple mechanisms, including regulating inflammatory responses, enhancing immune function, and protecting organ function. It particularly demonstrates notable efficacy in “tonifying deficiency and securing collapse”in sepsis cases characterized by sudden Yang Qi collapse. This paper discusses the theoretical origins, pharmacological mechanisms, and clinical practices of Sini Decoction, aiming to provide a scientific basis for the integrated treatment of sepsis using both TCM and Western medicine.
