The role of minimal RNA in sepsis-related acute kidney injury

    Abstract: 【】Sepsis-associated renal injury (Sepsis-associated acute kidney injury, SAKI) is a common complication in acute and critical ill patients. According to the existing criteria for the diagnosis of renal injury in sepsis (KDIGO criteria), most patients are found that the renal damage is irreversible, so it is very important for early diagnosis and treatment to prevent further deterioration of SAKI. There is no gold standard for early detection of SAKI and limited treatment for patients who have already developed SAKI. Small RNA (microRNA, miRNA) is a non-coding RNA that can regulate its target genes in the process of transcription. Previous studies have explored miRNA as a biomarker and therapeutic target for SAKI. This article will summarize the current knowledge of miRNA as a biomarker and therapeutic targets for SAKI.
