Abstract: Gastric cancer is one of the malignant tumors with high incidence and high mortality in the world, and its early diagnosis is directly related to the prognosis of patients. Chemotherapy is an essential treatment for advanced and relapsed and metastatic gastric cancer, but the drug resistance of tumor cells during chemotherapy seriously affects the benefit of patients. circular Rnas (circRNAs) are circular non-coding Rnas. Many studies on circRNAs in recent years have shown that their high specificity and sensitivity make circRNAs in body fluids expected to be important biomarkers for the early diagnosis and prognosis of gastric cancer. In addition, circRNAs and autophagy also play important roles in the molecular mechanism of chemotherapy resistance. Therefore, the research on the mechanism of circRNAs and autophagy in gastric cancer has attracted wide attention. Here, we review circRNAs as biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of gastric cancer, the molecular mechanism of circRNAs and autophagy regulating drug resistance in gastric cancer, and the potential of circRNAs as therapeutic targets.
