A case report of brucellosis with predominant liver and kidney damage

  Abstract: Objective:To discuss the clinical characteristics of Brucella abortus and its effects on the liver and kidney.Methods:The clinical data of one case of Brucella abortus infection in an adult female sheep were reported,and the relevant literature on brucellosis at home and abroad was reviewed to summarise the pathogenesis,clinical characteristics and treatment of Brucella abortus.Results:A 49-year-old adult female was admitted to the hospital for‘intermittent nausea and vomiting for 20 days’,with unexplained intermittent fever and rapid deterioration of liver and renal function,which gradually improved after systemic treatment and further deteriorated after systemic treatment.He recovered after 2 months.ConclusionD:Borrelia burgdorferi can cause multiple complications in the organism,and its condition is variable and easy to be misdiagnosed.
