Abstract: Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of the Liuzijue combined with external treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) on patients in stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(COPD)and its effects on inflammatory factors. Methods: A total of 98 patients in stable COPD were randomly assigned to either the treatment group or the control group. The control group was given standard western medicine treatment, and the treatment group was given external treatment of TCM combined with Liuzijue treatment on the basis of standard treatment. The treatment period lasted for 8 weeks. Outcome measures included TCM syndrome score, body-mass index, airflow obstruction, dyspnea, and exercise capacity index(BODE index), and serum levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1), interleukin-35(IL-35), and interleukin-17(IL-17)before and after treatment. Results: Compared to baseline, both groups showed significant reductions in BODE index, TCM syndrome scores, MCP-1, and IL-17 levels, along with a significant increase in IL-35 levels (P < 0.05). The treatment group had lower BODE index, TCM syndrome scores, MCP-1, and IL-17 levels, and higher IL-35 levels compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Liuzijue combined with TCM external treatment can improve the BODE index and TCM syndrome scores in patients with stable COPD, reduce pro-inflammatory factors MCP-1 and IL-17 levels, and increased levels of the anti-inflammatory factor IL-35.
