Abstract: Objective To explore the role of simulation teaching in the clinical practice of respiratory and critical care medicine. Methods From September 2022 to June 2024, 96 clinical medicine students of 2018 and 2019 who were interned in the Department of respiratory and critical care medicine of Dongyang Hospital Affiliated to Wenzhou Medical University were selected as subjects. Among them, 46 students from grade 2019 were trained by simulation teaching as experimental group; 50 students from 2018 grade trained by traditional method as control. The evaluation of teaching results is carried out by the combination of stage evaluation and process evaluation. T-test was used to compare whether there were statistical differences between the two groups. Results The total score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (90.80 ± 4.0 points vs. 82.55 ± 7.29 points), and the scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group in stage evaluation (49.48 ± 2.83 points vs. 41.13 ± 1.79 points) and process evaluation (33.86 ± 1.86 points vs. 30.21 ± 1.13 points), with statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05); Conclusion Simulation teaching is helpful to improve the practice effect of students in the Department of respiratory and critical care medicine, and can cultivate students clinical thinking ability.
