Exploring the dialectical thinking of “Long-duration acupuncture” for the treatment of facial muscle spasm based on the theory of “Body-Spirit Harmonization”

    Abstract: Facial muscle spasm is currently a difficult clinical condition, although it is a benign disease, but it is easy to cause the patient to avoid society due to social embarrassment, and the more severe symptoms may lead to functional blindness, which seriously affects the patients mental health and quality of life. The occurrence of facial muscle spasm is often associated with emotional trauma, over extreme fire, wind evil for the disease, internal and external conjunction, the gradual decline of the five organs, Zhengqi deficiency, yangming pulse failure, zongjin loss moistening and other factors, and more than a variety of factors together, the treatment of when the form of the same treatment, the article of the smooth emotional; quench the wind spasm, nourishing yin submerged in yang; support the spleen, beneficial to the qi and blood. In the treatment of facial spasm, the “long stay acupuncture holistic adjustment stabbing method” stimulates the whole bodys meridian qi through long stay needle stabbing and emphasizes the overall regulation of the whole bodys qi, blood, yin and yang and the patients state of mind and spirit. Relying on the theory of “form and spirit as one” in Chinese medicine, this study focuses on the treatment method of “long stay acupuncture holistic adjustment stabbing method”. By grasping the disease mechanism and identifying the evidence, we aim to realize the goal of “Body-Spirit Harmonization” and obtain ideal short-term and long-term therapeutic effects.
