The impact of evidence-based nutritional care on disease outcomes in patients with severe heart failure

    Abstract: Objective To analyze the application value of evidence-based nutritional care in patients with severe heart failure and its impact on patients disease outcome. Methods A total of 100 severe heart failure patients from January 2022 to June 2023 were divided into 50 patients in the routine nutrition group and 50 patients in the evidence-based nutrition group with evidence-based nutrition care. Both groups were continuously for one month. Before and after nursing, the nutritional status of patients was comprehensively evaluated according to the serum nutritional index level and MNA-HF scale, and the difference in the nutritional status index, exercise endurance, disease outcome and satisfaction of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the conventional nutrition group, Evidence-based nutrition albumin (ALB) (38.92 ± 3.42 (g / L) vs. 32.34 ± 2.80 (g / L), proalbumin (PAB) 345.65 ± 57.76 (g / L) vs. 311.23 ± 64.39 (g / L), transferrin (TRF) 4.56 ± 0.63 (g / L) vs. 2.59 ± 0.43 (g / L), MNA-HF score 25.34 ± 1.98 (points) vs. 20.19 ± 1.13 (points) (t=10. 530,2.814,18.260,15.970, P<0.05). Compared with the conventional nutrition group, exercise endurance 423.32 ± 46.58 (m) vs. 400.09 ± 41.24 (m) was improved in the evidence-based nutrition group (t=2.640, P <0.05). Compared with the conventional nutrition group, the rate of disease outcome in the evidence-based nutrition group was significantly improved 70.00 (%) vs. 50.00 (%) (x2=4.167, P <0.05). Compared with the conventional nutrition group, the evidence-based nutrition group was significantly more satisfied NSNS score: 86.79 ± 4.34 (points) vs. 79.90 ± 3.67 (points) (t=8.572, P <0.05). Conclusion Evidence-based nutrition nursing intervention can significantly improve the nutritional status of patients with severe heart failure, enhance exercise endurance, and is beneficial to the outcome of the disease, and is worthy of clinical application.
