Abstract: Objective To analyze the application and effect of transcranial direct current stimulation in the rehabilitation of swallowing function in stroke patients, and provide evidence-based experience for high-quality care of this group. Method: 86 stroke patients admitted to our hospital from December 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the observation subjects. A numerical table was used to expand the randomization grouping, and each group was named as the observation group and the control group, with 43 cases in each group. Among them, the control group received routine rehabilitation plans, while the observation group received transcranial direct current stimulation treatment on the basis of the control group. Before and 4 weeks after intervention, the subjective swallowing function of patients was evaluated using the Swallowing Function Scale (SFS). The actual swallowing process of patients was observed through Video Fluorescent Swallowing Scale (VFSS), and their quality of life was evaluated using the Quality of Life Scale (QOL). Results: After intervention, the observation group had higher scores in the SFS scale for drinking water test, eating speed, chewing ability, swallowing movement, and liquid food than the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05).After intervention, the VFSS scores of the observation group in the oral and pharyngeal phases were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); There was no statistically significant difference in the esophageal VFSS score after intervention (P>0.05).After intervention, the QOL scores of the observation group in terms of physical health, mental health, social relationships, environmental factors, etc. were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Transcranial direct current stimulation can improve swallowing function and enhance quality of life in stroke patients, and is worth further promotion in clinical practice.
