Abstract: Post stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) refers to various types and degrees of cognitive decline and impairment that occur within 6 months after the onset of a stroke. At present, neurocognitive scales are commonly used methods for clinical screening and diagnosis of PSCI, but they lack objectivity and cannot effectively reflect brain function impairment and the degree of impact on cognitive function. With the widespread application of MRI technology, it can assist in the diagnosis and identification of cognitive impairment subtypes based on brain structure and functional MRI imaging, and is currently one of the best methods for analyzing neurodegenerative diseases. MRI provides imaging evidence for in-depth exploration of the mechanism of functional remodeling in PSCI patients, evaluation of rehabilitation treatment outcomes, and adjustment of treatment plans. This article provides a review of the clinical application of MRI sequences and examination methods in the diagnosis and evaluation of PSCI.
