Exploration of the Medication Patterns and Mechanisms in the Treatment of Insomnia by Professor Liang Hui Based on Data Mining Analysis

  Abstract: Objective To analyze the medication patterns of Professor Liang Hui in the treatment of insomnia through data mining and to preliminarily explore the underlying mechanisms using network pharmacology.Methods Clinical cases of insomnia treated by Professor Liang Hui from August 2022 to September 2023 were collected and organized. A database was constructed using EXCEL software and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System. The frequency of medication use, drug properties, drug associations, and cluster analysis were examined to summarize Professor Liang Huis academic thoughts on treating insomnia and to investigate the pharmacological mechanisms of the commonly used drugs.Results A total of 300 insomnia-related data entries were collected, involving 96 different herbs, predominantly cold in nature and bitter in taste. The core herbal combinations included Bupleurum chinense, Poria cocos, Atractylodes macrocephala, Paeonia lactiflora, Curcuma aromatica.Conclusion Professor Liang Hui took into account the treatment of insomnia specimens, focusing on Qingli Sanjiao, regulating the liver and strengthening the spleen, smoothing the qi and organs, supplemented by nourishing the heart and calming the nerves, forming a core prescription integrating Bupleurum chinensis, Poria cocos, Atractylodes macrocephalus, Yujin, Gardenia, Zhimu, Fushen and Yangxincao, and its action pathways may be related to PI3K/AKT, HIF-1 and other signaling pathways.
