Abstract: The 5E instructional model is an advanced heuristic teaching framework that emphasizes problem-based learning, student-centered engagement, and teacher-guided facilitation. This approach effectively stimulates students interest, cultivates critical thinking, and promotes deep learning. Medical Immunology serves as a cornerstone bridging basic and clinical medical sciences. However, its curriculum is characterized by a high density of complex concepts, abstract knowledge, and interdisciplinary demands, posing significant challenges for learners. To address common issues such as low student motivation and a lack of proactive exploration, the authors implemented the 5E model—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate—into medical immunology instruction. By redesigning teaching strategies around these five phases, this study aims to provide a reference for innovative reforms in medical immunology education.
