Abstract: With the increasing global burden of end-stage renal disease (ESRD), as one of the renal replacement therapies, peritoneal dialysis (PD) has more economic benefits and is more convenient to operate and implement. However, long-term PD treatment is often accompanied by a micro-inflammatory state, which may adversely affect the transport function of the peritoneum, leading to technical failure. This review will explore the relation-ship between peritoneal transport function and microinflammation and its significance in clinical practice.
