Abstract: To enhance the innovative performance of the nursing workforce in public hospitals, improve the quality of nursing services, and promote the high-quality development of public hospitals, this study bases on the findings from on-site investigations, and systematically explores the mechanism by which the platform leadership style of nurse managers in public hospitals promotes the innovative behavior of subordinate nurses. Convenient sampling was used to survey 428 nurses from three public hospitals in province J and N. Through correlation analysis and regression analysis, the relationship between the platform leadership style of nurse managers and the nurses own work prosperity, task-relevant information elaboration capacity, and innovative behavior was examined. The results revealed that the platform leadership style of nurse managers can promote the innovative behavior of subordinate nurses through the dual mechanism of enhancing their task-relevant information elaboration capacity and work prosperity. Therefore, this study proposes that public hospitals should strengthen the level of platform leadership style among nurse managers in various departments, and encourage them to enhance the task-relevant information elaboration capacity and work prosperity of subordinate nurses through the utilization of this leadership style. This will facilitate the display of more innovative behavior by subordinate nurses, ultimately supporting the successful improvement of the quality of nursing services and the high-quality development of public hospitals.
