Ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress in polycystic ovary syndrome and related potential therapeutic targets

• 摘要：多囊卵巢综合征(polycystic ovary syndrome,PCOS)是青中年女性常见的内分泌代谢紊乱疾病。铁死亡是一种由特定膜脂的过氧化作用驱动的非凋亡程序性细胞死亡方式。内质网应激与细胞死亡密切相关,在慢性代谢性疾病中发挥作用。近年研究发现,铁死亡和内质网应激在PCOS的发生发展中起重要作用。该文综述了PCOS中的铁死亡与内质网应激机制,同时重点探讨了针对某些机制的潜在治疗策略,介绍了以药物靶向铁死亡和内质网应激缓解PCOS的最新研究进展,为PCOS的系统治疗提供有价值的信息。

  Abstract: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine metabolic disorder in young and middle-aged women. Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic programmed cell death mode driven by peroxidation of specific membrane lipids. Endoplasmic reticulum stress is closely associated with cell death and plays a role in chronic metabolic diseases. Recent studies have found that ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress play an important part in the development of PCOS. Therefore, this review summarizes the mechanisms of ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress in PCOS, and also focuses on the latest research progress of targeting ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress with drugs to alleviate PCOS, which will provide valuable information for the systemic treatment of PCOS.
