Abstract: Community-acquired respiratory distress syndrome toxin (CARDS TX) is a relatively stable exotoxin produced by Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP). Extensive studies in recent years have gradually clarified the structure, distribution, and pathogenic mechanism of this toxin in MP infections, as well as its role in inducing airway hyperresponsiveness and sensitization, and it also provides a reference for the development of MP vaccines against CARDS TX. This article reviews recent research advances in CARDS TX in MP in pediatric Mycoplasma pneumoniae infections, providing new ideas for further understanding the etiology and treatment of MP.
