Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy, CT Lund-mackay scores, levels of IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α and safety of MD nasal irrigation in the treatment of chronic sinusitis in children. Methods 63 children with chronic sinusitis admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to June 2022 were randomly divided into a control group (n=33) and a treatment group (n=30).. The control group was rinsed with 2.3% hypertonic saline, and the treatment group was rinsed with MD nasal rinsing solution. The clinical efficacy, sinus CT Lund-mackay scores, levels of IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α and safety of the nasal flush solution were compared between the two groups. Results After three months of treatment, the overall effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Sinus CT Lund-mackay scores showed that the scores of both groups decreased after treatment, and the performance of the treatment group was better than that of the control group (P < 0.05). In addition, the levels of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α in the nasal rinse solution of the two groups were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment (P < 0.05), and the reduction levels of IL-6 and IL-8 in the treatment group were more significant than those in the control group (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of reduced levels of TNF-α. In terms of adverse reactions, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion MD nasal irrigation can effectively treat chronic sinusitis in children, the clinical total effective rate, IL-6, IL-8 inflammatory factors and sinus CT score improvement are better than 2.3% hypertonic physiological seawater, and safety is good.
