Abstract: This paper focuses on the empirical research of WeChat reading promotion in Chinese medical college libraries. 9 domestic well-known medical college libraries were selected and their WeChat reading promotion data were collected for quantitative statistics and WeChat Communication Index effect evaluation. The python self-programming and other methods were then adopted to analyze and evaluate the quantity, time, content, effect of WeChat data and title. Based on the results of quantitative analysis, feasible suggestions are put forward from five aspects: propaganda, reader needs, management mechanism, activity characteristics, and social responsibility, which aims to provide reference for the WeChat reading promotion work of medical college libraries.

Key words: reading promotion; medical college library; WeChat public account
