Abstract: Objective /Significance: The aim of this study is to explore a biomedical big data classification method oriented towards open applications, to improve data management efficiency and security, and to facilitate the open sharing and reuse of data. Method/Process: Using literature research and focus group discussions, this study summarized and generalized the purposes, principles, and dimensions of data classification for open applications. Using a combination of linear and planar classification methods, a biomedical big data classification system was established. Key steps for the implementation of classification were proposed in the end. Results/ Conclusions: The study proposed objectives for the classification of biomedical big data, constructing a comprehensive classification system that includes dimensions such as subject affiliation, importance, and shareability, which encompasses characteristics, security management needs, and sharing applications. The study also proposed steps for implementing the classification of biomedical big data, including requirement analysis and planning, and data resource organization, which helps to improve the management efficiency and security management of data, and promotes the open sharing and reuse of data.
