Would older adults choose traditional Chinese medicine hospitals for treatment? Empirical Study Based on the Andersen Health Behaviour Model

• 摘要：目的/意义 探讨老年人选择中医医院就诊的影响因素。方法/过程 基于2018年中国健康与养老追踪调查(CHARLS)的16847名老人数据,应用安德森健康行为模型,通过回归分析,研究老人选择中医医院就诊的影响因素。结果/结论 教育水平、养老金状况、自评健康和慢性病情况对老年人选择中医医院就诊有显著影响。具体来说,教育水平高、无养老金、健康状况差及患有慢性病的老人更倾向于选择中医医院。研究有助于医疗机构更准确了解老年人需求,提升中医医院的服务质量。

  Abstract: Purpose/Significance To explore the factors influencing elderly peoples choice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospitals. Method/Process Based on the data of 16,847 elderly individuals from the 2018 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), this study applies the Andersen model and uses regression analysis to investigate the factors affecting the elderlys choice of TCM hospitals. Results/Conclusion Education level, pension status, self-assessed health, and chronic disease conditions have a significant impact on the elderlys choice of TCM hospitals. Specifically, elderly individuals with higher education levels, no pension, poor health status, and those suffering from chronic diseases are more inclined to choose TCM hospitals. This research helps medical institutions to better understand the needs of the elderly and improve the service quality of TCM hospitals.
