Abstract: Purpose/Significance This paper focuses on the characteristics and patterns of doctor-patient dialogue in online health communities, with the aim of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of doctor-patient interaction in virtual spaces and enhancing the quality of knowledge services in online health communities. Method/Process We uses web scraping technology to obtain interactive conversations between doctors and users on the Good Doctor Online website. Using a combination of open coding and conversation analysis, it analyzes the patterns and behavioral characteristics of doctor-patient interaction in online health communities. Results/Conclusion The paper findings indicate that there are three interaction modes in online health communities: traditional parental style, simple question and answer style, and interactive negotiation style. The detailed description of initial symptoms by users, the interaction skills of doctors and patients, and the knowledge differences between doctors and patients are the main factors affecting the interaction in online health communities.
